Hospitalization
Our hospitalization area is designated primarily for patients which cannot be treated on an out-patient basis. Reasons for this may include serious injury or illness, patient stabilization prior to surgery, time intensive diagnostics, fluid therapy, and many others. We have a dedicated hospitalization room which is outfitted with temperature controlled kennels, an oxygen therapy chamber, as well as a separate isolated hospitalization ward where we hospitalize patients which are suspected or confirmed to have an infectious disease. If our doctors recommend that you should hospitalize your animal with us or that surgery needs to be performed, they will inform you of the process of diagnostics/treatment as well as the estimated price and potential complications. Lastly, we will ask you to sign a hospitalization/surgery estimate and consent form. Hospitalized patients are continuously under the watchful eyes of our hospitalization doctor and veterinary assistant. Doctors rounds are performed 3x per day. Information about the current state of your pet will be shared with you during specific times of the day. Visits of hospitalized patients are only allowed after obtaining approval from our hospitalization doctor on duty that day. This is for the benefit of our patients so we can guarantee a calm and relaxing atmosphere which allows them to recuperate faster. |
